Tower Fortress Review
A mysterious tower has appeared in a small town, emitting noxious green smoke and making all who live near it sick. Strange creatures have infested the tower, and it’s up to you to ascend to the top and destroy the emitter.
Inspired by classic games and modern indie titles, Tower Fortress is a challenging vertical action-platformer with roguelike mechanics. Play as village alchemist and weapons forger Sara, who must ascend a tower filled with traps and dangerous monsters in order to save her sickened people. The game features a randomized experience that ensures every run is different and exciting, as well as four epic end zone boss fights.
The game’s controls are designed for touch-screen devices, but the virtual buttons can be difficult to use on a touchscreen, especially when combat begins and you must shoot enemies while also moving around the screen. Fortunately, you can upgrade your hero’s abilities as you climb, including the ability to double jump and attack while in the air.
You can also collect energy orbs as you climb, which can be used to unlock new armor for your hero. These can increase your hitpoints, allow you to climb higher, or even reduce the health of bosses.
Tower Fortress is a fun and challenging tower defense game with incredible pixelated graphics and fast-paced gameplay. It’s a free-to-play game, but does feature third-party ads and cross-promotion for other Nitrome games. These can be removed with a one-time in-app purchase.
